Airsoft Beginners Guide (What you NEED to Know!)

Getting Started...

Heading to your first ever airsoft skirmish can feel a bit daunting — but it’s also seriously exciting!
If you don’t have your own kit yet, don’t worry. Most airsoft sites offer rental packages so you can try the game before buying your own gear.

UKARA (UK Airsoft Retailers Association) is important if you want to own a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) in the UK. You’ll need to play at a registered site at least 3 times over at least 56 days before applying. Until then, you can buy brightly coloured “two-tone” airsoft guns.

Will it hurt?
It can sting a bit — like being flicked with an elastic band — especially at close range. Layers of clothing and proper protection make a big difference.

Eye Protection

This is the number one must-have for any player. Your eyes are priceless, so protect them!

Face Protection

Clothing

Comfort and camouflage both matter. Long sleeves and trousers protect against scratches and impacts.
Many players start with old jeans and a hoodie, then upgrade to tactical gear.

Your First Airsoft RIF

RIF = Realistic Imitation Firearm. Choosing your first one is exciting — but take your time.
